Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Carlo Collodi Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montbanc presentation box (including outers) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 3rd April 2012. The pen has never been used and is presented in as new condition – the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the barrel. Only 12000 pens were produced and this is number 6801.
Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2011 it was Carlo Collodi.
The barrel is crafted from a deep brown resin, with the skeletonised cap and trmim being Champagne-gold plated. The pen takes its inspiration from his greatest work “The Adventures of Pinocchio”. The cap shows him and his companions, the cricket, fox, cat and whale, with the screw on the clip being a nod to the joints of the famous marionette. Collodi’s signature can be found engraved on the cap. The shape of the cone represents Pinocchio’s nose!
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
