Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Luciano Pavarotti Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 1st May 2021. The pen was only dipped to test and is presented in essentially as new condition – there is a small ding on the side of the section (shown in the photos), hence the special price. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 4293.
In 2015, Montblanc honoured the legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The black and white colourscheme refers to the black tuxedo he famously wore with his white bow tie and shirt. A flowered pattern in red lacquer adorns the cone, which also has a turquoise cabochon sitting atop it – this refers to the colourful Hawaiian shirts that he wore! The shape of the clip recalls his trademark scarf and the five engraved cap rings, symbolise the five tiers at the “Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti” opera house.
The 18k medium nib has an engraving of a bent nail (this was his unconvential good-luck charm!) and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
