Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Henry E. Steinway Fountain Pen, which comes with its lacquered presentation box (including outers) and unstamped booklet. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 1503.The pen has never been inked and is presented in virtually as new condition – the protective tap remains on the section. There a few incredibly light marks to the presentation box, these are almost impossible to capture on photos, but we simply mention for a complete description.
In 2014, Montblanc honoured the true master of piano manufacturing, Henry E. Steinway. German born Steinway, first started making pianos in his kitchen, before he immigrated to the US to set up a company which would become a name that is truly synonymous with exquisite pianos. The pen features the traditional black and gold colour scheme found on a Steinway grand piano.
The cap is decorated with the very heart of the instrument, the harp or overstring piano. The shape of the gold-plated clip is a reference to the screw clamps used for the bending the piano rim into shape. The name ‘Steinway & Sons’ is engraving on the piston cone ring.
The 18k medium nib has a finely engraved portrait of Steinway himself! It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

Limitation Number present
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
