Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Gold Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box and unstamped booklet. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in excellent condition – the M sticker, denoting a medium nib, remains on the barrel.

This is a simple pen to date, as it features the first generation serial number (shorter and in a different font), so it’s from 1991-92. This was a time of change for the LeGrand and this example is particularly interesting as it features details from both eras – the nib is the later bi-tone version, whereas the solid ink window and split ebonite feed come from the previous generation.

The pen is fitted with a 14k bi-tone medium nib and it’s a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here.
