Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Barley Sterling Silver Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pen has been carefully used over the years and is presented in overall lovely condition – there is a light engraving on the cap (shown in the photos), hence the special price.

The pen is crafted from sterling silver and it is engraved with a delicate barley pattern. The trim is gold-plated. It’s an easy pen to date as it has the first-generation serial number (shorter and in a different font) along with Germany clip ring markings, which confirms this as a 1991-92 pen. It has likely headed to Hamburg for servicing at some point as the feed is the current style.

The 146 is a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here. It’s fitted with an 18k bi-tone fine nib.
