Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Barley Sterling Silver Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been carefully used over the years and is presented in overall lovely condition (there is a small indent on the cone). We were advised by the previous owner that it’s just returned from being serviced by Montblanc in Hamburg, where the resin section was also replaced.
The pen is crafted from sterling silver and it is engraved with a delicate barley pattern. The trim is gold-plated. It’s an easy pen to date as it has the first-generation serial number (shorter and in a different font) along with W.Germany clip ring markings, which confirms this as a 1991-92 pen.
The 146 is a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here. It’s fitted with an 18k bi-tone medium nib.
The important details are as follows…
– 18k Bi-Tone Medium Nib
– Montblanc Presentation Box
– Serial Number present
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
