Description
Thanks for looking at our listing for this Montblanc John Lennon Limited Edition 1940 Fountain Pen, which comes with its large presentation box (including white outer), unstamped information booklet and Imagine CD. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall lovely condition – it was serviced by Montblanc in Hamburg in February 2025 and the paperwork will be included. Only 1940 (his year of birth) were produced and this is number 0599. There is some flaking to the inner lining of the presentation box.
The John Lennon pens are part of the Montblanc Donation Series and are always incredibly popular amongst fans and collectors. The detailing on these pens is a delight, with the barrel and cap featuring a sterling silver guilloche underlay, with an off-white lacquer. The design of the pen takes its inspiration from the memorial in New York’s Central Park. The guitar-inspired clip is finished with a blue tanzanite, which is a nod to his famous blue glasses. Around the cone is engraved the date 02.10.1971, which was when Imagine was released.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– Medium Nib
– Lovely Condition
– Serviced by Montblanc
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
