Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Great Characters James Dean Special Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and unstamped booklet. The pen was removed from its sealed box for photos and as such is presented in as new condition – the protective stickers remains on the silver elements, including the barrel and cone. Only 1931 were produced and this is number 1340. We’re also going to include an unused bottle of the Montblanc James Dean ink and a sealed James Dean notebook.

The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the James Dean was the 2018 release.

The shape of the pen is inspired by the switchblade that he used in “Rebel Without a Cause”, with the wooden cap also a nod to this. The clip is gun-shaped, which is nod to the famous scene in the film “Giant”. The barrel is engraved wth the words, “Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today”. The pen is produced from sterling silver, with the battern on the barrel being a nod to the engraving on his favourite Porsche car.

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
