Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Boheme XL Platinum Line No Stone Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and unstamped service guide. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition.
The easiest way to understand the rarity of this pen, is to describe it as a ‘rogue wave’ of a Montblanc pen. If you look at Montblanc model ranges, very rarely do you come across a ‘rogue wave’, meaning most models follow a specific theme and they stick within those boundaries – so for example, the classic Meisterstuck offerings (yes we know the Skeletons are different!), the more contemporary Starwalkers etc.
The Boheme range focused mostly on the smaller retractable nib pens, with some people choosing the fixed nib medium versions – but the XL is a rogue wave, because it’s completely different from all the other Boheme’s and size wise goes head-to-head with the 149. These were only available for a limited period of time and it’s not surprising, because although Montblanc produce incredible limited and special editions, they create barely any rogue waves… pens that stand entirely alone amongst the others around them. So these will undoubtedly have a place in Montblanc history and are getting harder to find!
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and both Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring. The mechanism to retract or reveal the nib is slightly stiffer than some, but it doesn’t affect the usage of the pen, we simply mention it for a complete description.
The important details are as follows…
– Medium Nib
– Excellent Condition
– Serial Number and Germany clip ring markings
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
