Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this glorious Conway Stewart Chatsworth Henry Simpole Silver Sapphire Blue Fountain Pen, which comes with its Conway Stewart presentation box (including outer) and leaflet – confirming first purchase on 14th June 2007. The pen has never been used and is presented in fantastic condition. Only 25 were produced and this is number 22.

Henry Simpole was a renowned artist who worked with sterling silver and specialised in overlays. He worked with Conway Stewart on a small number of models and this is the wonderful Chatsworth, which is arguably one of the most intricate versions. The filigree overlay is crafted from sterling silver and his inspiration for this model was a delicate bow design on a Valentines day card. As with other Conway Stewart designs, Simpole wove the letters C and S in to the design… the Chatswprth took this even further, with the initials J and G are includes, which honours the two founders of Conway Stewart (in 1905), Jarvis and Garner.

The base of the pen is sapphire blue resin, which has a fantastic pearlised finish. It measures 16.2cms with the cap attached and 14cms without.

The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
