Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this outstanding Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Brothers Grimm 1812 Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 22nd March 2024. The pen was only inked once to test and is presented in virtually as new condition. Only 1812 were produced and this is number 1381.

 

 

 

Launched in 2022, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, this 1812 version of the Brothers Grimm is a richly detailed writing instrument.

 

 

 

 

Paying tribute to the legacy of the Brothers Grimm, who published so many of the world’s most beloved folk tales in the 19th Century. The shape of the pen is modelled on a hiking stick, with the design taking its inspiration from Sleeping Beauty – the pen is crafted from metal, which has a ruthenium coating. The barrel and cap have a yellow gold-coated overlay, denoting the abandoned nature of the castle, which is overgrown with roses, thorns and leaves. The cone is engraved with the title of their fairy tale collection (Kinder und Hausmarchen), with the number 50 referring to the fairy tale The Sleeping Beauty and 1812 being the year of publication. The D on the cap refers to the German title, ‘Dornroschen’.

 

 

 

 

The Montblanc snowcap is finished in mother-of-pearl and the red lacquer around it symbolises the roses that wrap around the castle.

 

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
