Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Platinum Izumo Shikkoku Tiger in The Bamboo Forest Fountain Pen, which comes with its wooden Platinum presentation box (including outer), pen kimono and bottle of ink. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condtion.

The Izumo is crafted from black ebonite and this version then has a tiger design, which is created using the Sumiko taka maki-e technique. The tiger is shown with crossed legs, emerging from the bamboo forest. The maki-e technique utilises charcoal powder, which gives the design height and when the light catches the pen it shows the tiger in greater detail. The trim is ruthenium-coated.

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and being a cartridge / converter (supplied), you’ve the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
