This is the glorious Iro-Miyabi version which uses the Ishime-nuri urushi technique - the slightly grainy finish is achieved by sprinking either charcoal powder of dry lacquer powder on top of the urushi lacquer, which is then polished and multiple layers of lacquer is applied on top. The Chitose-Midori has a deep green finish, which represents youth, permanence and long life. The base material of the pen is ebonite and the trim is gold-plated.

The pen is a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds.
