The pen has barely been used and is presented in virtually as new condition.

The Namiki Emperor is a monumental pen, both in size and reputation. This Pilot branded example, was produced in the 1990's, and was the precursor to the current 'Emperor'. The most noticeable difference is the nib imprint, which unlike the modern pens with their Mt. Fuji engraving, have Pilot branding and is 14k rather than 18k. These earlier pens rarely appear for sale and are an absolute delight!

The pen is crafted from ebonite, which then has multiple layers of urushi lacquer applied.
