Pelikan Souveran M1000 Raden Green Ray LE 400 Fountain Pen – EF Nib

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this outstanding Pelikan Souveran M1000 Raden Green Ray Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Pelikan presentation box (including outers) and information booklets. The pen has barely been used and is presented in virtually as new condition (the tiniest of ring marks on the grip section). Only 400 were produced and this is number 219. The presentation box is made from Japanese Paulownia wood.

The M1000 Raden pens are truly stunning examples of craftsmanship, with this 2020 Green Ray example being one of the most sought after editions. Raden is the technique of using pieces of abalone shells and with the stripes on the Green Ray being 2.6mm rather than the 1mm stripes found on other Pelikan Raden pens, this is an absolutely captivating looking writing instrument – the finishing touch is the multiple layers of urushi lacquer, hand applied to the barrel and cap. The work is carried out by the artist group Hoshukai.

The M1000 is a piston filling pen, so the choice here is bottled ink. It’s fitted with an 18C extra fine nib.
