Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this outstanding Pelikan Seven Wonders of the World Pyramids of Giza Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its vast Pelikan presentation box (including outer), bottle of ink and information booklets. The pen has never been inked and is presented in wonderful condition – there is a small piece of trim missing, which is only visible when the domed cone is removed to activate the piston. For this reason it’s offered at a very keen price and it doesn’t affect the usage of the pen at all. Only 445 were produced and this is number 277 – 455 was chosen in homage to the Greek historian Heredot, who collated information about the pyramids in 445 B.C.E.
The Pyramids of Giza was the first pen in the legendary Pelikan Seven Wonders of the World series. Released in 2004, the pen pays tribute to the wonder of the Great Pyramids. The shape of the cap head is a tribute to the crown of the Pharoah Cheops. The huge cap covers the full length of the barrel and it’s engraved with gold-plated hieroglyphs. The lacquered barrel (it has a small mark as shown in the photos) features images of the pyramids and the domed resin cone has a miniature sand covered pyramid.
The pen is fitted with a medium 18C nib and it’s a piston filling pen, so the choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– 18c Medium Nib
– Pelikan Piston Filling System
– Pelikan Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
