Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Pelikan M800 Daedalus and Icarus Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large, folio style, Pelikan presentation box (including outer – two tiny marks to the edge of the fabric on this) and information booklet. The pen has never been inked and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 800 were produced and this is number 298 – 800 was chosen as Daedalus was first mentioned, by Homer, in the 8th Century BC.
Released in 2001, the pen is crafted from transparent blue resin. Dedicated to the myth of Daedalus and Icarus, this colour was chosen to represent the skies that they escaped from in Crete and also the Aegean Sea. On the barrel you can find a sterling silver figure of Icarus.
The pen is fitted with a medium 18C nib and it’s a piston filling pen, so the choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– 18c Medium Nib
– Pelikan Piston Filling System
– Pelikan Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
