Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Parker Duofold Limited Edition True Blue Fountain Pen, which comes with its huge presentation box, bottle of ink, limitation number card and paperwork. The pen has never been used and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 5,000 were produced and this is number 0422. There are some light marks to the top of the presentation box, but this is simply mentioned for a complete description.
Parker have a long, rich heritage of creating impressive writing instruments and this limited edition pen was released in 2007 to pay homage to George S. Parker. It takes its design queues from the original True Blue of the 1920’s.
In 1928, Parker launched a range of slender and contemporary pens. These writing instruments were marketed along side the Duofold but was pitched at half the price. The pen cost $3.50 back then and initially targeted a younger demographic such as college students.
Students adored the extraordinary new colours and avant-garde design. Over time, the three fifty pens became known as the True Blue.
Being based on the Duofold, this is a cartridge / converter (supplied) so you have the best of both worlds. It’s fitted with an 18k medium nib.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
This represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase an unused example, at a tremendous price. This pen is ready for many years of use or simply to be tucked away as part of a wider collection.
