Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Parker Centennial General Douglas MacArthur Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large cherrywood Parker box (including outers) and paperwork. The pen has never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition (the tiniest of marks on the gold cap band) – when we ultrasonically cleaned the nib, only the tiniest dot of ink appeared, which would have been from the final check when it was produced. No ink residue was found anywhere else in the pen. Only 1945 pens were produced and this is number 1714.
Parker have a long, rich heritage of creating impressive writing instruments and the Duofold range is at the heart of this. With its incredibly detailed production process, including 130 components and 100 quality control tests.
This limited edition was released in 1995 to honour Genera Douglas Macarthur who signed the peace treaty to end the war in the Pacific. His signature is engraved on the cap, along with the limitation number. The pen is based on the Duofold used to sign the treaty, with it featuring vibrant orange acrylic along with gold-plated trim.
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied) filler, so you have the best of both worlds.
The important details are as follows…
Condition: Virtually As New
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
