Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Parker Duofold Classic Pens CP5 Vintage and Modern Sterling Silver Fountain Pen Set. They both come with their large Classic Pens presentation box (including outers), certificates and information booklet. Both pens have been very lightly used and are presented in excellent condition. Although the limitation numbers of these are 0145 / 1888 (the year Parker was formed), there was an agreement, following the sale of Parker to Newell Rubbermaid Inc, that only 500 of these would be made.
Parker have a long, rich heritage of creating impressive writing instruments and the Duofold range is at the heart of this. With its incredibly detailed production process, including 130 components and 100 quality control tests.
If you’re reading this, then you’ll likely already be familiar with the Classic Pens series. Formed in England in 1987, the founders Andreas Lambrou and Keith Brown, worked with leading manufacturers to create customised versions of their flagship pens – all of which were fully covered in sterling silver. The silver work was carried out by Murelli and as such the finish on each pen is stunning.
The Duofold pens were the fifth release in the collection and were launched in 1999. Paying homage to the original Duofold of the 1920s, as well as the modern version. So the pens were offered as a set but in two forms – the Vintage and Modern.
The CP5 Vintage features a circular guilloche engraved desin in a moire pattern, evocative of the golden age of machine engraving.
The CP5 Modern has a fishnet pattern, reflecting the most advanced engraving designs at the time of the pens launch.
The Vintage is fitted with an 18k fine nib and the Modern has an 18k italic medium. Both pens are cartridge / converters (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.

As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
