Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this fantastic Parker Duofold Centennial Orange Special Edition Fountain Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set, which comes with a cherrywood Parker presentation box (including outer), information booklet and a Parker leather presentation box. Neither writing instrument has been used and both are presented in virtually as new condition – when we ultrasonically cleaned the nib, only the tiniest amount of ink appear, which would have been from the final check with it was produced. The fountain pen has a cap marking of IU, making it a Q3 1991 pen and the pencil is marked IIIQ, dating it to Q1 1990.
Parker have a long, rich heritage of creating impressive writing instruments and the Duofold range is at the heart of this. With its incredibly detailed production process, including 130 components and 100 quality control tests.
The orange version of the Centennial was launched in September 1990 as 1000 unnumbered sets, with a mechanical pencil and in the cherrywood presentation box, with the writing instruments having a crown featuring the pendulum pattern. Due to the initial success they then continued offering this colour for several years. The orange acrylic works perfectly with the gold-plated trim.
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and is a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds. The pencil is fitted with 0.9mm leads.

With every set that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
