Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Parker Duofold Centennial Orange Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen appears to have only been inked very briefly as there was virtually no ink residue when it was cleaned. The pen spent its life stored in a desk drawer – there are some light marks (along with the clip being slightly raised) from where it moved around, but overall it’s a really nice example. The date code of III places this as a Q1 1994 pen.
Parker have a long, rich heritage of creating impressive writing instruments and the Duofold range is at the heart of this. With its incredibly detailed production process, including 130 components and 100 quality control tests.
The orange colour was introduced in 1990 as a special edition of 1000 un-numbered fountain pen and pencil sets. It was so popular that Parker continued to produce it and this example has the same pendulum pattern crown that the original special editions did.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied) filler, so you have the best of both worlds.
The important details are as follows…
Condition: Very Good
Box: izods
Nib: Medium
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
