Thanks for looking at our listing for this Onoto The Spitfire Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large lacquered wooden presentation box (including outer), information leaflets and certificate – confirming first purchase on 5th May 2021. Only 100 numbered pens were produced and then a further 20 with Roman Numerals, with the numeral pens being destined for the Far East (this is X). The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition.
Created with TMB Art Metal to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 2020. The clip is crafted from brass, but it’s the remainder of the pen where the wonderful historic link appears – the Duralumin (a form of aluminium) used originates from the Battle of Britain Spitfire P7350. Because the metal is some 80-years old, there are minor surface imperfections, from where it was casted, but somehow this just feels right – whereas if it was too pristine it would somehow not reflect the history of the aircraft. The Duralumin has a wonderfully warm feel and is exceptionally comfortable.
The pen is fitted with an 18k size 7 fine (ground to a stub by Onoto) nib and it’s features a removable plunger filler (huge capacity), so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
