Omas Paragon Royal Blue Celluloid Silver 1998 Fountain Pen - BB CI Mottishaw Nib

Out of stock

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this delightful Omas Paragon Royal Blue Celluloid Sterling Silver Cap Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall lovely condition – the gold ring at the piston cone does occassionally move when utilising the piston, but this doesn’t affect the pen at all.

OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.

The Paragon is one of their most recognisable pens and they have an elegance and simplicity that only a manufacturer like OMAS could have achieved.

The barrel is crafted from wonderful Royal Blue celluloid, which features myriad of tones. This colour is known to suffer from fading, where the celluloid turns to more of a purple, but this example doesn’t suffer from this issue. The cap is then produced from sterling silver and we love the little details, such as the blue wheel on the clip.

As mentioned, the pen features a piston filling mechanism, so bottled ink is your choice here. It’s fitted with an 18k double broad (BB) nib that was ground to a cursive italic by John Mottishaw.

The important details are as follows…

Condition: Lovely

Box: izods

Nib: Double Broad

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
