Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Omas Grand Paragon Arco Bronze Celluloid Vermeil Trim Fountain Pen, which comes with its large OMAS presentation box (including outer), information booklet, bottle of ink and soft pouch. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition – there is a tiny bit of plating loss on the nib, but this is being very picky.
OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS.
The Grand Paragon is the later version of this iconic model and is a very imposing writing instrument. Arco Bronze celluloid requires no introduction and is arguably the most sought-after pen material on the planet, alongside Arco Verde. With its myriad of brown and gold tones, it’s a material that simply has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The trim is sterling silver, which is then gold plated, and the gold works really well with the arco.
The pen is fitted with an 18k extra fine nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
Condition: Excellent
Box: OMAS
Nib: Extra Fine
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
