Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Oldwin 90th Anniversary Arco Verde Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box . The pen has been regularly, but carefully used, and is presented in overall lovely condition – the left tine on the nib is a fraction lower than the right, but we’ve write tested the pen and it’s a very smooth writer. The gold-plated ring, with the limitation number on cap be moved, but it’s not loose. Only 90 were produced and this is number 61.
Released in 2020, this is a collaboration between The Pen Family and Mora Stylos.
This is the Arco Verde celluloid version and it requires no introduction… with it being arguably the most sought-after pen material on the planet, alongside Arco Bronze. With its myriad of green, black and almost white tones, it’s a material that simply has to be seen to be fully appreciated. If you turn the cap fully shut, the lineup between the arco pattern is off, but if you turn it approximately 3/4 then you can line it up perfectly, whilst also having the cap securely attached.
The pen is fitted with an #8 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. With these pens, the barrel fit is very flush to the piston, so it does create a small vacuum when attached, which can occasionally lead to a drop of ink leaking from the mechanism – it doesn’t affect usage, but is just mentioned for a complete description. The original owner requested a black ebonite feed, rather than the gold-coloured aluminium feed fitted to other 90th anniversary pens.
The important details are as follows…
Condition: Lovely
Box: IZODS
Nib: Medium
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
