Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 1902 Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 24th February 2024. The pen has never been used and is presented in as new condition. Only 1902 were produced and this is number 1049. It’s currently eligible for the Montblanc free nib exchange, so if you wanted to go for say an EF or BB, we’d be happy to send it off to Hamburg for you once the purchase is completed – this process currently takes approximately 8 weeks. We’ll also include an unused bottle of Montblanc ‘Scarlet Red’ Homage to Arthur Conan Doyle ink.

Launched in 2021, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, the 1902 Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is finished in a brown lacquer, which is a nod to pipe often used by Holmes. The wooden elements to the cap and cone also reflect this detail. The cap and barrel feature a pattern which is a nod to his coat, along with parts of the historic London map. The maginifying glass style clip is inspired by the one that Holme’s used and underneath the clip can be found the silhouette of a hound, which was created using photoluminescent pigments.

Sitting atop the cap can be found the Montblanc snowcap in glorious mother-of-pearl.

The 18k medium nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the pen is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
