Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Franz Kafka Fountain Pen, which comes with its larger ‘special set’ presentation box, unused polishing cloth and booklets. The pen never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition – the B sticker, denoting a broad nib, remains on the section. Only 18500 pens were produced and this is number 17007.

 

 

 

Every year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2004 it was Franz Kafka.

 

 

 

The barrel and cap are crafted from a semi-transparent dark red resin, with the trim being sterling silver. The design is inspired by his most famous work “The Metamorphosis”, with the the tapered barrel making this one of the most interesting designs from the series.

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k broad nib, which features an engraving of a cockroach. Due to the shape of the barrel, the pen is fitted with a captive converter, so your choice here is bottled ink.
