Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle LE1902 Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers), bottle of Scarlet Red ink and booklet – confirming first purchase on 21st November 2021. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition. Only 1902 and this is a fantastic low number – 0006.

 

 

 

Launched in 2021, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, the limited edition version of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a glorious writing instrument. The pen is made from brown hued lacquer, with the cone and cap top being wooden, which is a nod to the pipe used by Holmes. The inlaid plaid pattern is a reference to his coat, along with parts of the historical London map.

 

 

 

Behind the magnifying glass shaped clip, is a hound produced from photoluminescent pigments, which is a reference to the story “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. The cap ring features Conan Doyle’s signature along with the logo of the “Study in Scarlet”, which was Holmes first case. Atop the pen sits the Montblanc snowcap, which is crafted from wonderful mother-of-pearl.

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
