Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Limited Edition Thomas Mann Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style box (including outers – some wear to the outer white card sleeve) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 6th October 2009. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition – the F sticker, confirming a fine nib, can still be found on the piston cone. Only 6000 were produced and this is number 0235.
Launched in 2009, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition, these writing instruments pay tribute to the 20th Century writer, Thomas Mann. Most famous for the novel “Buddenbrooks”, the deep black lacquer and platinum striped design is reminiscent of the Art Deco era that Mann lived in.
The interplay of colours and materials symbolises the different relationships between the characters in “Buddenbrooks”.
The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
