Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Peggy Guggenheim Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its presentation boxes (including outer) and paperwork – confirming first purchase on 21st July 2016 . The pen has never been used (the protective tape remains on the grip section) and is presented in essentially as new condition. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 117.
In 2016, Montblanc honoured the American art collection, bohemian and socialiate, Peggy Guggenheim. The design is inspired by her art collection, with the black lacquered cap and barrel featuring art deco style patterns.
The red lacquer spiral piston cone is a nod to the striped mooring poles in Venice, which is where she settled and exhibited her collection, at the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni. The embossed lion head’s on the cap ring are a reference to her Venetian palace and the lion of St Mark.
The 18k medium nib is finely engraved with dog paws, as she adored her Lhasa Apsos dogs! It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
