Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 888 Ludovico Sforza Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its complete set of presentation boxes (a little wear to the white outer cardboard box) and paperwork – confirming first purchase on 3rd October 2013 . The pen has never been used and is presented in wonderful condition. Only 888 examples were produced and this is number 335.
In 2014, Montblanc honoured the legendary Renaissance ruler and patron of Leonardo da Vinci, Ludovico Sforza. This 888 edition is crafted from blue lacquer and solid 18k gold trim and fittings – these are inspired by Leonardo’s ceiling frescoes at Sala delle Asse in the Sforza castle in Milan. The captop and barrel end piece are a nod to the architecture of the castle. A huge mother-of-pearl snowcap finishes off the design wonderfully!
The 18k medium nib features an engraving of the Sforza coat of arms. It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
