Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Luciano Pavarotti Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with it’s large presentation box (including outer) and information booklets – confirming first purchase on 1st May 2021. The pen came to us having never been inked – there was a tiny nib adjustment required and this was completed by our preferred nibmeister, so it has now been inked once. The pen is presented in wonderful condition – there is a small ding on the grip section and this is shown in the photos. Only 4810 were produced and this is number 4293.
In 2015, Montblanc honoured the legendary performer, Luciano Pavarotti.
The black and white lacquered colour scheme of the barrel and cap are a nod to his famous black tuxedo and white bow combination. The red lacquered floral pattern on the piston cone, which is topped with a turquoise resin cabochon, reflects his love of Hawaiian shirts.
The clip is shaped to resemble his extravagant scarves and the five gold-plated rings around the cap are a homage to the five operas from which he found such acclaim.
The 18k medium nib has a fine engraving of a bent nail, which was the lucky charm that he always went on stage with. It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

Limitation Number present
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
