Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this legendary Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Lorenzo de Medici Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its complete set of presentation boxes and paperwork. The pen still remains sealed in its factory plastic pouch and the boxes are in wonderful condition, with only the lightest handling marks and a few very small marks to the silver plaque. Only 4810 examples were produced and this is number 1090.

The Lorenzo de Medici is an iconic Montblanc pen and it’s the pen that began the Patron of Art series back in 1992. The eight-sided barrel and cap are crafted from sterling silver, which has been hand-engraved by one of only eight master craftsmen – you can tell who worked on each pen, as they include their initials, and this one is ZH.

The Medici dynasty is intrinsically linked to both Florence and its influence on culture and fine arts. Lorenzo Medici “the Magnificent” was renowned for his support of the arts in the Renaissance period and as such seems a fitting subject to start of what has become an iconic yearly offering from Montblanc.

The 18k medium nib features a heart shaped breather hole. It’s a piston filling pen, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
