Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Henry E. Steinway Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with it’s complete set of presentation boxes (some light marks to the wooden box) and paperwork. The pen has been regularly used but is still presented in overall very good condition. As with other POA pens, only 4810 were produced and this is number 0194. The nib has been ground from a medium to a fine, by the renowned Gena Salorino at Custom Nib Studio in the US.
In 2014, Montblanc honoured the true master of piano manufacturing, Henry E. Steinway.
German born Steinway, first started making pianos in his kitchen, before he immigrated to the US to set up a company which would become a name that is truly synonomous with exsquisite pianos.
The pen features the traditional black and gold colour scheme found on a Steinway grand piano. The cap is decorated with the very heart of the instrument, the harp or overstring piano. The shape of the gold-plated clip is a reference to the screw clamps used for the bending the piano rim into shape. The name ‘Steinway & Sons’ is engraving on the piston cone ring.
The 18k fine nib has a finely engraved portrait of Steinway himself! It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
This is one of our favourite recent Patron of Art releases and it’s an incredibly detailed and striking writing instrument!

Limitation Number present
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
