Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Elizabeth I Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with an Elizabeth I Montblanc presentation box (the plaque is for a different numbered pen) The pen has been regularly, but carefully used, over the years and is presented in overall lovely condition. Only 4810 were produced and this is number 1435.
In 2010, Montblanc honoured one of the most famous monarchs in history, Elizabeth I.
The lacquered finish to the barrel and cap is modelled on her royal garments, with the Tudor rose and the cross of the crown, being found on the cap. The clip is finished with a green cabochon.
The design of the pen also gives a nod to her childhood, with gold-plated engravings of the artistic embroidery from “The Glass of the Sinful Soul”, which was a book that Elizabeth designed at the age of 11.
The 18k fine nib has an engraving of the royal crown. It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
This really is a wonderfully detailed writing instrument and is one of the most sought-after Patron of Arts pens.
