Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück Gold-Coated 149 Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (some light marks to the top). The pen has never been inked and is presented in wonderful condition – the M sticker, confirming a medium nib, can still be found on the barrel.
This one is simple to date as it features the first generation serial number (shorter and in a different font), so it will be between 1991-92.
The pen features an 18k bi-tone medium nib, brass piston threads and first generation plastic feed. It’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink – we’ve serviced the mechanism, so it’s extremely smooth.
Both serial number and W.Germany markings can be found on the clip ring.
The important details are as follows…
18k Bi-Tone Medium Nib
Piston Filling System
Montblanc Presentation Box included
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
