Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 144 Classique Czar Nikolai I Vermeil Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has never been inked and spent its life in a desk drawer – there are some small marks from where its moved around and also on the grip section from where the cap has been taken on and off, that said it’s still a very good example.

The Czar Nikolai writing instruments are one of the most famous relatively modern offerings from Montblanc and were only produced around the start of the 2000’s.

They were available in two versions, vermeil and platinum plated. This is the vermeil (gold plating on top of sterling silver) version and when contrasted with the vibrant green malachite cap, it really is a writing instrument to behold. Malachite was chosen for this pen because it was the stone of the Russian Czars. The intricate detailing is beautiful and the vermeil barrel and trim add a bright contrast to the malachite. The appropriate Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring.

The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib and being a Classique, it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied) pen, so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.

The important details are as follows…

– Fine Nib

– izods Presentation Box

– Serial Number and Germany markings present

– Very Good Condition

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
