Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck Bordeaux Resin 144 Classique Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box and unstamped service guide. The pen has never been inked and is presented in fantastic condition – the gold trim is bright and the Bordeaux precious resin has a deep shine. The F sticker, confirming a fine nib, can still be found on the barrel.
We’ve always been a huge admirer of the Bordeaux resin writing instruments and sadly as these were only produced for a limited amount of time, firstly in the early 80’s and then for a second time in the 1990’s – they’re now more difficult to find, with most examples looking pretty tired.
This is a simple pen to date, as it features the first generation of serial number – this was both shorter and in a different font, from the later offerings. As such, this detail places the pen between 1991-92.
The pen is fitted with a 14k fine bi-tone nib and is a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
The important details are as follows…
– Fantastic Condition
– Serial Number and Germany markings present
– Montblanc Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
