Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 146 LeGrand Czar Nikolai I Vermeil Rollerball Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (the sticker is for the classique ballpoint version) and stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 10th October 2002. The pen has barely been used (if it all!) and is presented in wonderful condition.

The Czar Nikolai writing instruments are one of the most famous offerings from the past 30 years and were produced from 1997-2002.

They were available in two versions, vermeil and platinum plated. This is the vermeil (gold-plating over sterling silver) version and when contrasted with the vibrant green malachite cap, it really is a writing instrument. Malachite was chosen for this pen because it was the stone of the Russian Czars. The appropriate Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring.

The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
