Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Tom Sachs Fountain Pen Set, which comes with its special Montblanc presentation box (including outer – some light marks to this), information booklet and bottle of ink. The pen has never been used and as such is presented in essentially as new condition. The M sticker, confirming a medium nib, can still be found on the barrel. Only 4810 of these limited edition sets were produced and this is number 2321 – the pens from the UNICEF collaborations don’t have a limitation number, it’s only ever on the presentation box.
The Tom Sachs Limited Edition was released in 2004 as part of the UNICEF / Montblanc Partnership and this is one of their “right to write” pens. Several renowned figures were chosen to design special cases for the 149 and this is arguably one of the most desirable. The foam board presentation case, designed by the New York artist is where both the pen and ink are housed – it has the UNICEF and Montblanc logos scribbled in a hand-written style.
These sets are now extremely difficult to find and are always desirable additions to any collection.
The important details are as follows…
18k Bi-Tone Medium Nib
Tom Sachs Limited Edition Set
Piston Filling System
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
With these being rarely available, this represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase an unused example, at a great price.
