Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been regularly, but carefully used and is presented in lovely condition – the gold trim is bright and the black precious resin has a deep shine.
The 149 is a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here.
The pen is fitted with a 14k bi-tone oblique broad (quite a chunky OB!) nib. Both serial number and W. Germany markings can be found on the clip ring. This is a first generation serial number pen, as it’s the shorter version, so with W.Germany markings, this gives a production date of 1991. This is also backed up, by the fact that the bi-tone 14k nibs were phased out in 1991, to be replaced by the bi-tone 18k version.
The important details are as follows…
– 14k Bi-Tone Oblique Broad Nib
– izods Presentation Box
– Serial Number and W.Germany markings present
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
