Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with an IZODS presentation box. The pen has been carefully used over the years and is presented in overall excellent condition – there is a very small area of dulling to the resin on the section (shown in the photos).

This example likely originally dates from 1985 as it’s the only year when the following features combine – two-piece barrel, 14k bi-tone nib, split ebonite feed, black piston threads and only Germany clip rings markings. Obviously there could well have been parts remaining after the piston threads were changed to brass, so it may be a year or so later in terms of an actual production date.

The pen is fitted with a medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
