Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with a Montblanc presentation box (this is from a slightly later period). The pen has been carefully used over the decades and is presented in overall excellent condition.
This is a straightforward pen to date, as it features a solid ebonite feed, single-piece barrel, black threads piston and 18c tri-tone nib – so placing it between 1969-6872. These earlier 149’s also have a cap top which unscrews by hand from the main element of the cap. The clip ring features only Germany markings.
There’s so much value in these early 149’s, with the resin having a glow that seems deeper than the current offerings and so many delightful historical features.
The pen is fitted with an 18c Tri-Tone fine nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
18c Tri-Tone Fine Nib
Piston Filling System
Montblanc Presentation Box included
Excellent Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
