Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, which comes with a later-style Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall excellent condition.
This is a pretty straightforward pen to date, with the combination of grooved-face ebonite feed, friction-fit piston and 14c tri-tone nib placing it around 1965-68. It also has a one-piece barrel and no clip ring markings.
These earlier 149’s from the 1960’s are an absolute delight and represent wonderful value compared to new examples.
The pen is fitted with a 14c oblique double broad nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
14c Tri-Tone Oblique Double Broad Nib
Grooved Face Feed
Montblanc Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
