Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been regularly used over the years, but is still presented in overall very good condition – there is plating loss to the thin gold ring by the piston cone.
The pen features an ebonite feed with grooved face, single-unit barrel and legendary 18c tri-tone (medium) nib and threaded black piston mechanism – these details place it at precisely 1968. The reason for this is that the earlier friction fit mechanism was phased out in 1968 and in the same year the 18c tri-tone was replaced by the 18c bi-tone.
The clip ring features only Germany markings.
The pen is a piston filler (so bottled ink) and we’ve serviced the mechanism, so it’s extremely smooth.
The important details are as follows…
18c Tri-Tone Medium Nib
Piston Filling System
izods Presentation Box included
Very Good Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
