Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this incredibly rare Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Silver Solitaire Barley Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box (including outer), diamond certificate, unused polishing cloth and stamped service guide – confirming first purchase on 27th October 2021. The pen was only inked once and is presented in virtually as new condition.
The Silver Barley is one of the rarest non-limited edition Solitaire offerings and was only available for a limited period of time – it’s also incredibly sought-after, and for very good reasons.
The barrel and cap are crated from sterling silver, which is then engraved with an intricate guilloche design. The clip has a diamond on it and the appropriate diamond certificate is included. The real star of the show is the mother-of-pearl snowcap, which is rarely see on Montblanc writing instruments, even very limited edition offerings.
Both Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium bi-tone nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– Virtually As New Condition
– Germany and serial number markings present
– Montblanc Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
