Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Ramses II Vermeil Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including branded outer), information document and stamped paperwork – confirming first purchase on 17th March 1997. The pen was only filled to test after initial purchase, so is presented in close to as new condition.
The Ramses II pens are amongst our very favourites, here at izods. Released in the late 1990’s, these pens simply have to be seen to be fully appreciated. The vermeil barrel (gold-plating over sterling silver) compliments brilliantly with the lapis lazuli cap, which is finished with flecks of gold. These pens were released a tribute to the legendary pharaoh, Ramses the Great, who ruled in the 13th century. Lapis Lazuli was used, as it was known to be one of the pharaoh’s favourite stones. The blue resin grip section echoes this same colour scheme.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and being a LeGrand, this is a piston filler.
Serial number, Germany and Metal3 markings can be found on the clip ring. The Metal3 element refers to the shade of gold used, with 1 being the lightest and 9 being almost red gold.
The important details are as follows…
-18K Bi-Tone Medium Nib
– Piston Filling Mechanism
– Serial Number, Metal3 and Germany markings present
– Virtually As New Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
With these now harder to find, this represents a rare opportunity to purchase such a wonderful example at a keen price.
