Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Gold Barley Fountain Pen, which comes with a stanardard Montblanc presentation box (including outer). The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition – a couple of very small marks on the non barley section of the cap. The pen has just returned from having the nib tuned by our preferred nibmeister.
This particular pen is the gold-plated barley version, which features a brass barrel and cap, which is then gold-plated. The intricate barley design is one of our favourites! Date wise, this pen is simple to date, with the first generation serial number (shorter and in a different font), combined with W.Germany clip ring markings, so 1991-92, but very likely 1991.
The pen is fitted with an 18k bi-tone fine (heading towards an EF) nib and is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– 18K Bi-Tone Fine Nib
– Piston Filling Mechanism
– Montblanc Presentation Box
– Fantastic Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
