Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Bordeaux Gold Fountain Pen, which comes with a Montblanc presentation box (including outer). The pen has just returned from being serviced by Montblanc in Hamburg (the paperwork will be supplied to the purchaser) where it also had a new cap (excluding clip and cap top). The barrel is in lovely condition and the piston cone has a few small marks.
We’ve always been a huge admirer of the Bordeaux resin writing instruments and sadly as these were only produced for a limited amount of time, firstly in the early 80’s and then for a second time in the 1990’s – this is an easy pen to date as it features the first generation serial number (shorter and in a different font), so it dates to 1991-92.
The clip ring features both serial number and Germany markings.
The pen is fitted with a 14k medium bi-tone nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
– Lovely Condition (Cap is new)
– Serial Number and Germany markings present
– Montblanc Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
